Supporting Employees

In addition to the Leading Well 2 -day programme we also offer a number of workshops under the wellbeing umbrella that can help support employees in achieving wellness and help them adopt a self-care attitude to their own wellbeing.

The self-care element is a dimension that normal wellbeing programmes don’t always address. Often we find these programmes are developed to cater for thousands of diverse needs and wants and organisations end up with something that doesn’t hit the mark with the majority of their staff. There is no one size fits all.

We have found when organisations are implementing these programmes, employees feel like they are being told what to do in order to experience wellness, when in fact we should be equipping our leaders with the tools and skills to recognise what wellbeing means to them as individuals and how they can then example these behaviours to the rest of the workforce. They need to have accountability for their own wellbeing experiences and not just follow a tick-box of what they are being told is the correct way.

There are a plethora of topics you may want to include but we believe the fundamentals to any successful and sustainable wellbeing programme are:

  1. Building Resilience Workshop - Ensuring your employees have the knowledge to recognise what resilience looks like and equipping them with the tools to respond, learn and build techniques for themselves to be more resilient. Helping them develop a greater appreciation of self, of others and of the environment around them.
  2. Adult Mental Health First Aid - The end result being you have a group of people that can respond to distress
  3. Lifestyle and Wellbeing Coaching - Offering one to one guidance in developing strategies for all 6 elements of wellbeing
  4. Employee Wellbeing Programme - Provide a programme/bank of materials which allows employees to make educated wellbeing decisions by themselves

Building Resilience Workshop

Our Building Resilience Workshop is designed to give employees the tools they need to take control and be more productive and mentally healthier as a result.

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and is something that is becoming more important in our increasingly fast-paced and changeable working environment and is vitally important to how an organisation performs, particularly where change is being managed. But how is mental resilience developed? One important route is to establish a culture of self-help, where individuals are able to recognise wellbeing issues and feel confident to seek support that helps them remain healthy and effective.

During our workshop, participants will:

  • Understand what resilience is, where it comes from and how to maximise it;
  • Understand the components of Mental Toughness and what they mean in practice;
  • Understand triggers and how different behaviours produce different results;
  • Understand coping mechanisms; helpful and unhelpful;
  • Develop techniques and strategies to positively strengthen resilience.

In advance of the session, delegates will be encouraged to complete a mental toughness questionnaire (MTQ48+). This will offer an insight into current resilience levels, offering personalised feedback on areas that could be developed and strengthened.

Where delegates feel able to share, individual feedback can also be used to shape discussions within the workshop and put content into context.

Adult Mental Health First Aid

Adult Mental Health First Aid is an educational course that teaches people how to identify, understand and help a person who may have a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health.

Certified by Mental Health First Aid England, your course is delivered by approved trainers with access to complementary resources.

The workshop:

Specifically designed to support individuals in dealing with ‘crises’ situations, this session also offers participants the confidence, knowledge and understanding of mental health problems so they can support and guide colleagues appropriately.  Unlike many physical conditions, mental health issues can often be long term. As such, this session can also provide delegates with an improved insight and therefore ability to manage mental health concerns over time – helping them to further support colleagues and their performance at work.

This programme is not about developing practitioners. It is simply offering an approach to actively support individuals in managing their mental state.

During this two-day course, delegates will explore how to:

  • Identify the early stages of a mental health problem
  • Help someone who’s dealing with a mental health issue
  • Help stop mental ill health from worsening
  • Help someone have a quicker recovery
  • Guide someone towards appropriate professional help
  • Break the stigma of having a mental health problem
  • Supporting recovery and seeking professional help

Each delegate will receive a mental health first aid manual as well as a workbook containing a wealth of relevant information and guidance. Every employee who completes the course will become a qualified mental health first aider and earn a certificate from MHFA England.  All our trainers are Mental Health First Aid Instructors, approved by MHFA England.

Employee Wellbeing Programme

We understand the importance of maintaining momentum in the workplace to really start to tackle ingrained beliefs and behaviours when it comes to an individual’s health and happiness. Let us take the strain and design and deliver a wellbeing programme for you which continually feeds people’s interest, knowledge and understanding of wellbeing issues, tips and solutions – in order for them to self-manage their wellness. Our support programmes can include lunchtime wellbeing cafes, wellbeing conferences and regular wellbeing newsletters.

We can help you create a bank of webinars and podcasts bespoke to your organisations' needs. We have a large suite available which fall under the following categories:

  1. Stress resilience
  2. Mindfulness
  3. Nutrition
  4. Health & wellbeing

We advise these to be delivered/offered to your organisation in a lunchtime learning style. These are meant to be short sharp bursts of information on topics that may be of interest to your employees. The nature of how these are delivered means they are non-intrusive, it doesn’t take any time out of their working day but can also be picked up at any given time as they are always available online.

Webinars are a great way to provide rich information about broad wellbeing issues/topics that are available at your own leisure.

All packages are bespoke and based on your business needs or areas of target.
